Noatmeal

Over the weekend I decided that I would take a break from eating keto bread. And instead of having eggs for breakfast during this break, I remembered I have not had noatmeal for a long time. Noatmeal is simply a keto/low carb oatmeal but really “not an oatmeal”. It is a combination of ground flax seed and chia seeds with any low carb or keto approved milk. You can choose from nut milk such as almond milk, coconut milk, or heavy cream. I don’t buy ground flax seed instead I grind the flax seeds myself using a food processor. Sometimes I would add vanilla or top it off with butter.

I always prepare my noatmeal the night before. That way the chia seeds will gel in with the ground flax seed by morning next day. I would keep it in the fridge overnight then warm it up in the microwave in the morning. You can also cook it in the morning in the stove but to be honest I have not tried it as I always rush in the morning.

I know you are curious how it taste. For me, I like the taste especially when I use coconut milk. There is a very tiny bit of bitterness from the flax but very negligible.

To save more time, I combine flax and chia seeds together in a zipper bag. My regular serving is 1T flax, 1T chia and 4T coconut milk or 1/4 cup.
